Love Potion Empire Cookies

Love is in the air at Tealish! With only a couple of days to go until Valentine’s, we’re busy coming up with creative ways to show our loved ones how much we care. Right now, we’re warming hearts with the sweet scent of tea-infused baking. Because what’s nicer than an edible, handmade gift?

Love Potion Empire Cookies are a tasty way to let your Valentine know you’re thinking of them. A spin on the classic jam-filled biscuit, these adorable sandwich cookies have our Love Potion green tea rolled right into the dough! The buttery shortbread is infused with the delicate flavour of this unique tea: the fresh taste of sencha, blueberries and cinnamon are at the forefront, while the warming spice of pink peppercorns lingers on the tongue.

To make these yourself at home, simply add a tablespoon of Tealish’s Love Potion tea to the dry ingredients of your favourite Empire cookie recipe. Instead of the traditional raspberry jam filling, we opted for blueberry jam to bring out the sweet fruit flavour of the tea-infused shortbread.

Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter and ice with pale pink frosting for a delicate and delicious Valentine’s Day treat! Served with a cup of Earl Grey Cream tea, Love Potion Empire Cookies are the perfect sweet for your sweetheart. (Psst – they’re great for sharing with friends and family, too).
